Schedule:

  • 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
  • On-call requirement: 12 nights per week
  • Weekend call: 12 24-hour shifts per schedule
  • Floating as necessary to support other departments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients, maintaining strict aseptic techniques
  • Transport and position patients for surgery; provide comfort and privacy before procedures
  • Set up operating rooms, instruments, and supplies according to each case
  • Proficiently scrub in at least 3 specialty areas (e.g., Transplants, Open Heart, Robotics preferred)
  • Maintain accurate physician preference cards, participate actively in surgical team planning
  • Adhere to universal barrier precautions and all facility sterilization protocols
  • Execute patient care tailored to diverse populations and developmental needs
  • Perform duties both independently and as a cooperative team member

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Graduate of a Surgical Technology program or accredited LVN/LPN program (required)
  • Valid BLS certification (AHA)
  • Certified Surgical Technologist or LVN/LPN License (required)
  • 2+ years perioperative experience preferred
