Schedule:
- 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
- On-call requirement: 12 nights per week
- Weekend call: 12 24-hour shifts per schedule
- Floating as necessary to support other departments
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients, maintaining strict aseptic techniques
- Transport and position patients for surgery; provide comfort and privacy before procedures
- Set up operating rooms, instruments, and supplies according to each case
- Proficiently scrub in at least 3 specialty areas (e.g., Transplants, Open Heart, Robotics preferred)
- Maintain accurate physician preference cards, participate actively in surgical team planning
- Adhere to universal barrier precautions and all facility sterilization protocols
- Execute patient care tailored to diverse populations and developmental needs
- Perform duties both independently and as a cooperative team member
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Graduate of a Surgical Technology program or accredited LVN/LPN program (required)
- Valid BLS certification (AHA)
- Certified Surgical Technologist or LVN/LPN License (required)
- 2+ years perioperative experience preferred
