Job Description

Deliver specialized patient care and operational support in a dynamic Operating Room environment located in La Mesa, CA. This role offers a valuable opportunity to apply your expertise in nursing within an OR team dedicated to excellent patient outcomes and procedural efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to established practices, policies, and ethical standards governing patient safety and operational compliance in the OR setting.
  • Maintain current licensing, certifications, and complete mandatory regulatory trainings including TB testing, safety, HIPAA, and compliance.
  • Anticipate procedural needs and assist seamlessly during surgeries, including preparation and application of dressings or casts.
  • Execute case picks in alignment with surgeon preference cards and ensure stringent accountability for all surgical instruments, including towel clips and instrument trays.
  • Document accurately, perform surgical counts with a relief partner, and communicate exceptions promptly.
  • Proactively identify operational or patient care issues and implement improvements, participate in department projects, and contribute to cost containment and educational initiatives.
  • Demonstrate reliability by fulfilling additional commitments and adapting to shifts as necessary.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid nursing credentials with current licensure.
  • Experience in operating room nursing, particularly in instrument handling and patient care protocols.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative on responsibilities without direct supervision.
  • Strong communication skills to document and coordinate effectively with surgical teams.
