Youll be part of an advanced surgical services team, rotating between the main campus operating rooms and the ambulatory surgery center. With exposure to a diverse patient population across all ages (except cardiac, transplant, neuro, and gastric bypass cases), youll expand your clinical expertise and strengthen your adaptability. The environment encourages learning from various workplace practices and leadership styles, providing a rare opportunity to grow professionally while adding invaluable depth to your resume.
Schedule/Hours:
- 0700-1930; 12-hour shifts
- Rotating days off with the team
- On call: one night per week and once every 3rd to 4th weekend
- Holiday call only if not already covered
Qualifications:
- Current NY nursing license and active BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years clinical nursing experience, including 2 years in an OR setting
- Circulating experience is a must; scrub experience is a plus
- Prior teaching hospital or trauma experience is welcomed but not mandatory
- EPIC documentation/medication system familiarity preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Circulate and, if applicable, scrub for a range of surgical procedures
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including RNs, surgical techs, and aides
- Start IVs, assist with patient transports, and uphold strict OR protocols
- Adhere to established dress code and surgical hygiene standards
