This position places you in a dynamic surgical environment, exposing you to varied procedures, leadership styles, and interdisciplinary teamwork in a large surgical unit. With 8 operating rooms on the main campus and 4 at the ASC, youll gain extensive experience in a high-volume setting. The facility utilizes the EPIC documentation and medication system, deepening your skill set with industry-standard technology.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Shift: 7:00 AM 7:30 PM
  • Rotation: Days off rotate with staff working 12-hour shifts
  • Call: One night per week & once every 3rd to 4th weekend
  • Holiday: On-call for one assigned holiday per year

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current NY Nursing License required
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years clinical experience, including at least 2 years in surgical services
  • Prior experience as a circulator required; scrub experience preferred
  • Experience in a teaching hospital is a plus, not mandatory

Key Responsibilities:

  • Circulate in OR for a wide variety of surgeries (excluding cardiac, transplants, neuro, gastric bypass)
  • Start IVs and assist with patient transport as needed
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including RNs, surgical techs, and aides
  • Adhere to strict surgical attire policies for safety and infection control
  • Document and medicate using EPIC systems
