By joining the high-performing Operating Room (OR) team, youll collaborate with outstanding leaders and seasoned professionals, enhancing your expertise in surgical nursing and patient care. Exposure to varied cases across eight state-of-the-art OR suites at the main campus and four at the ambulatory surgery center fosters continuous learning and resume-building experiences.

Schedule/Hours

  • 0700-1930 (12-hour shifts)
  • Rotating days off with fellow staff
  • On-call one night per week, plus one holiday per year on call (as needed)
  • On call every 3rd or 4th weekend (as scheduled)

Qualifications

  • Active NY nursing license
  • BLS certification
  • Minimum of 2 years recent OR clinical experience, with at least 2 years in specialty
  • Circulating experience required; scrub experience preferred
  • Experience in a teaching hospital preferred but not required
  • Comfortable with EPIC documentation and medication systems

Responsibilities

  • Circulate for a wide array of surgical cases (excluding cardiac, transplants, neuro, gastric bypass)
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including RNs, OR aides, scrub techs, and surgical assists
  • Float to ASC when needed, based on case load and experience
  • Participate in patient transport and start IVs
  • Maintain strict adherence to surgical attire and infection control standards
