Job Description

A dynamic healthcare environment is seeking a skilled professional to support operating room procedures as both an OR Tech and First Assist Tech. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring efficient surgical workflows and optimal patient outcomes. Desired Qualifications:

  • Certified Operating Room Technician (ORT) or similar surgical technology qualification
  • Documented experience performing as a First Assist in surgical settings
  • In-depth understanding of aseptic technique and surgical site safety
  • Ability to anticipate surgeon needs during invasive procedures
  • Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile field protocols
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
  • Valid BLS certification; advanced credentials preferred

Schedule/Hours:

  • Full-time hours; typical weekday shifts with potential for overtime and on-call rotations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare operating rooms and equipment for scheduled surgeries, ensuring sterile conditions
  • Scrub in and assist surgeons during procedures, maintaining a sterile field at all times
  • Perform first assist duties under direct supervision, including hemostasis, retraction, and suturing as trained and authorized
  • Monitor and adjust instruments and supplies as appropriate for each surgical case
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to support patient safety and reporting requirements
  • Uphold hospital and regulatory standards for infection control and procedural documentation
  • Manage post-operative instrument decontamination and room turnover

$2,662 - $2,816/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 40 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
