Assist surgical teams in delivering exceptional patient care within a dynamic operating room environment located in Harrisburg, IL. This contract role offers the opportunity to contribute to efficient surgical procedures by preparing patients and rooms, managing sterile supplies, and supporting surgeons throughout operations. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented individuals with a background in operating room technology, ready to ensure safety and precision in every case.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in patient transportation, positioning, and preparation for surgical procedures
• Assemble and dismantle operating tables and instruments before and after cases
• Open sterile supplies and set up equipment in advance of procedures
• Perform skin preparation and draping to maintain sterile fields
• Assist surgeons with gowning, gloving, and passing instruments and sutures
• Maintain accurate counts of instruments, sponges, and sutures to ensure patient safety
• Apply dressings and bandages as required after procedures
• Collect and care for surgical specimens appropriately
• Decontaminate instruments and equipment according to policy guidelines
• Restock and monitor surgical supplies to enable smooth operation room turnover

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Non-certified candidates: Graduate of an accredited OR technician program, military training, or relevant clinical assistant experience with evidence of training supervision
• Certified candidates: Successful completion of Certified Surgical Technologist exam via NBSTSA or NCCT
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum six months of technical experience or specialized training in an OR setting

Schedule:

• 08:00 AM to 06:30 PM, four days per week
• Rotating days off during the week
• One weeknight and two weekend days per month on call
