Schedule/Hours

  • Travel assignment with potential call or late coverage based on departmental needs.

Qualifications/Desired Experience

  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist required.
  • Previous experience assisting with moderate to high acuity surgical cases preferred.
  • Skilled in anticipating surgical needs and troubleshooting instruments/equipment.
  • Ability to mentor, precept, or train others in various surgical modalities.
  • Strong organizational skills and a commitment to sterile field protocols.
  • Dedicated to culturally competent, age-appropriate patient care practices.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare operative suites and surgical fields while maintaining strict patient safety and sterile environment standards.
  • Gather necessary instruments and supplies, anticipating the needs of surgeons and surgical teams.
  • Support complex and occasionally advanced surgical cases as required.
  • Serve as a mentor or trainer, contributing to staff development.
  • Assist with inventory, ordering, and stocking operating rooms and perioperative areas.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards.
  • Fulfill additional duties and adjust shifts as department operations require.
