Desired Qualifications:

• Valid and current certification as a Surgical Technologist
• Practical knowledge and proficiency with moderate to high acuity surgical procedures
• Proven ability to assist nursing staff and anticipate the needs of surgeons and healthcare practitioners
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach
• Experience mentoring, precepting, or training others is highly valued
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining a sterile, safe environment
• Ability to adapt to changing situations and troubleshoot equipment or supply issues on the spot

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare the operating room, instruments, supplies, and surgical field per procedure requirements
• Work under the direction of registered nurses, ensuring culturally sensitive and age-appropriate care
• Maintain vigilant oversight of sterile field and compliance with patient safety protocols
• Anticipate surgical needs and respond swiftly to changing circumstances during procedures
• Assist with inventory management, ordering, and stocking of perioperative areas
• Engage in performance improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards
• Collaborate with the team to discuss surgical plans and deliver efficient, coordinated care
• Provide orientation and support to new or developing team members as needed
