A skilled Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) opportunity is available in Goose Creek, SC, offering engagement in a dynamic, Level I Trauma Center known for cutting-edge technology and Magnet designation. This contract role is ideal for RNs with at least 2 years of experience in OR nursing, though first-timers with the appropriate licensure are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities include providing perioperative nursing care in a Main OR comprising 21 suites covering a wide range of surgical specialties such as Trauma, Transplant, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, ENT, Gynecology, and Robotics. RNs are expected to scrub and circulate during surgical procedures within this academic, nurse-driven environment. Flexibility in floating between units or sister facilities to meet operational needs is required.
Key qualifications and experience:
- Current RN license in South Carolina or multi-state/compact license
- BLS certification and ability to obtain Radiation Badge (provided by agency)
- Strongly preferred: 2+ years of OR nursing experience with scrub skills
- Ability to work rotating weekends and up to 4 on-call shifts monthly, including both weekday and weekend coverage
- Willingness to accommodate block scheduling with managerial approval
Schedule:
- Day shift from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM with holiday rotation
- One weekend shift per month (10:30 AM to 11:00 PM on Saturday or Sunday)
- On-call requirements include up to two weekend call shifts (seven or twelve hours)
The facility offers parking with a modest registration fee and is mindful of seasonal hurricane response duties during June through November, particularly August and September.
