Qualifications and Experience

  • Certified and/or trained in Operating Room Technology (ORT).
  • Previous experience assisting in surgical cases, preferably in a hospital or acute care setting.
  • Thorough knowledge of maintaining a sterile field and anticipating surgeon needs.
  • Ability to effectively manage surgical supplies and support operating room flow.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to thrive in a high-stakes environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Prepare the operating room and all necessary supplies and instruments for scheduled surgical procedures.
  • Uphold strict sterile techniques and monitor the surgical environment for safety and compliance.
  • Pass instruments, supplies, and medications to surgeons efficiently throughout procedures.
  • Provide patient care within OR scope, focusing on intraoperative support.
  • Perform technical duties related to surgical equipment and instrumentation.
  • Maintain accurate counts of supplies and collaborate closely with circulators and perioperative staff.
  • Ensure readiness of back-up equipment and keep area organized for quick transitions between cases.
