Job Description
A surgical technologist skilled in Operating Room Technology (ORT) is needed to support nursing care and assist in the preparation of surgical patients. This role involves performing scrub duties, providing critical assistance during both emergency and scheduled surgical procedures, and ensuring the seamless preparation, transportation, and supervision of patients throughout their surgical experience.
Responsibilities:
- Perform scrub duties during various surgical procedures, maintaining sterility and readiness
- Assist nursing staff in prepping patients for surgery, including emergency interventions
- Support patient transportation and supervision before, during, and after surgery
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills in surgical operating room practices and patient care
- Collaborate with surgical and nursing teams to ensure patient safety and procedural efficiency
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Proven experience as a surgical technologist or in operating room technology (ORT)
- Strong understanding of sterile techniques and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments, including emergencies
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Certification as a surgical technologist is preferred
