An opportunity is available for an experienced Surgical Assistant/Surgical First Assistant with strong skills in orthopedics, neurology, general surgery, robotics, urology, and gynecology. This contract position offers a dynamic role working 36 hours per week, primarily during 12-hour day shifts, starting every other Monday, providing a consistent yet varied surgical environment.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Surgical Assistant/Surgical First Assistant
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Certification - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA)
- Proficiency in orthopedic, neuro, general, robotic, urological, and gynecological surgical procedures
Schedule and Call Requirements:
- 36 hours per week, 12-hour day shifts
- On-call duties include a minimum of 8 call days per weekday monthly and 1 weekend day per month, with weekend, holiday, and weekday call rotations
- Holidays included in call schedule
- Flexibility to float to nearby facilities within the Advent Health North system
Responsibilities:
- Assist surgeons during complex procedures with precision and care
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields and instrumentation
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Adhere strictly to safety, hygiene, and procedural protocols
Additional Information:
- Scrubs are not provided; appropriate attire required
- This 13-week contract may extend based on facility needs
- No mapping for CSTFAs; schedules reviewed by nurse management
