Schedule/Hours
- Evening shift coverage
- Mix of 4x8-hour and 4x12-hour shifts: 11:0019:30, 15:0023:30, 11:0023:30
Desired Qualifications
- Certified surgical technologist
- Minimum of 3 years recent (within past 4 years) acute care OR experience in Level 1 or Level 2 trauma facility
- Demonstrated proficiency in adult surgical cases (trauma, ortho, general, ENT, vascular, GYN)
- Scrub experience mandatory
- Experience in teaching hospital or comparably sized facility
- Able to work with minimal supervision after brief onboarding
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Valid license/certification in good standing
- Able to pass a pre-employment health screening
- No First Assist duties (per NY State regulations)
- New travelers must have experience in comparable hospital environments
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and maintaining sterile fields and instruments for surgical procedures
- Working closely with surgical team members to ensure optimal patient care
- Maintaining high standards of patient safety and infection control
- Assisting with a range of surgical specialtiestrauma, ortho, neuro, vascular, bariatric, GU, and GYN
- Providing timely, accurate support during emergency interventions
