Job Description

Contribute your expertise to a clinical team as a skilled professional in perioperative support. In this contract role, you'll collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and physicians to provide critical assistance during surgical procedures and ensure the highest standards of patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent recognized certification required
  • Previous experience in the operating room, specifically as an OR Technician (ORT)
  • In-depth knowledge of sterile techniques and infection control standards
  • Proficient in preparing operating rooms, handling surgical instruments, and assisting surgical teams
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, or willingness to obtain before starting
  • Effective communicator with a team-first attitude

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain a sterile environment in operating rooms before, during, and after procedures
  • Select and arrange surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment, confirming availability and readiness
  • Assist surgeons and nurses by passing instruments, sponges, and other sterile supplies as needed
  • Adhere strictly to aseptic technique protocols and ensure compliance with all safety standards
  • Support patient positioning and draping processes to optimize safe surgical access
  • Maintain accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments before, during, and after surgery
  • Participate in room turnover and equipment sterilization as part of post-operative responsibilities
