Job Description
Providing critical support in the operating room suite, this role focuses on delivering specialized patient care and executing unit support duties. The position requires adherence to healthcare practices, regulatory compliance, and proactive engagement in quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consistently follow established healthcare practices, policies, and ethical standards.
- Maintain current licensing, certifications, and mandatory training within required timelines.
- Anticipate procedural needs and assist with tasks including dressings and cast applications.
- Select surgical cases in accordance with physician preference cards.
- Accurately document and communicate procedural counts and report any discrepancies.
- Update surgeon preference cards following facility-specific protocols.
- Proactively identify issues and implement solutions to enhance department performance.
- Support department initiatives by taking on additional responsibilities and contributing to process improvements.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with operating room nursing, particularly in orthopedic trauma (ORT).
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and instrumentation.
- Ability to independently manage responsibilities and follow procedural protocols.
- Competence in documentation, regulatory compliance, and patient safety standards.
- Willingness to work varied shifts and participate in teaching or training activities.
