Key Qualifications:

• Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or strong experience as an Operating Room Technician (ORT)
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology or Nursing program
• Current BLS certification required
• Previous clinical experience in an acute care surgical environment is preferred
• Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation, sterile technique, and operation room protocols
• Ability to anticipate the needs of surgeons and maintain composure in high-pressure situations
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms for surgery by ensuring all equipment and instruments are sterile and functional
• Assist surgical teams throughout procedures by passing instruments, handling supplies, and maintaining aseptic technique
• Account for surgical instruments and sponges before, during, and after procedures
• Support the surgical team with room turnover and patient positioning
• Monitor environmental conditions and troubleshoot equipment as needed
• Collaborate with nurses, anesthesiologists, and surgeons to promote patient safety
