A leading Boston healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Operating Room Technician (ORT) to support their busy perioperative team for a 13-week contract starting on 3/16, 3/30, or 4/13. The successful candidate will rotate through day and evening shifts, including at least two weeks of nights during the assignment, and participate in call and weekend coverage. Schedule / Hours:
- 4x10 or 4x12 shifts with day/evening rotation
- At least two weeks of nights per contract
- Two short call shifts per four-week schedule
- Required weekend coverage; weekend shifts are 12 hours for 4x10 schedules
- Day shifts: 7a5:30p (Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri); 9a7:30p (Wed)
- Evening shifts: 1p11p (4x10) or 11a11p (4x12)
- 4x12 day 7a7:30p (Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri); 9a9:30p (Wed)
- Flexible scheduling to ensure full contracted hours
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a high-capacity operating room environment
- Current ORT certification or equivalent training as required by state regulations
- Strong understanding of perioperative workflows and sterile technique
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and adaptability in a fast-paced setting
- Prior traveler or contract experience is highly valued
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain operating suites, ensuring sterile conditions and proper instrumentation
- Assist surgical teams during procedures, anticipating needs and actively participating in patient care
- Collaborate with surgical nurses, anesthesiologists, and other team members
- Contribute to patient safety and workflow efficiency
- Maintain accurate records according to facility protocols
