Job Description

A skilled registered nurse with expertise in operating room techniques is sought for a contractual position in Boston, Massachusetts. This role is ideal for a professional accustomed to fast-paced, high-capacity surgical environments and seeks to contribute to patient care in a renowned medical setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert nursing care in a high-capacity operating room environment
  • Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure smooth and efficient procedures
  • Adhere to strict sterile techniques and safety protocols
  • Manage perioperative nursing duties including patient preparation and recovery monitoring
  • Adapt to varying shift schedules including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and short call assignments

Schedule/Hours:

  • 4x10 or 4x12 shifts available
  • Day shifts typically from early morning to early evening with midweek extended hours
  • Evening shifts spanning afternoon to late evening
  • Rotation includes at least two weeks of night shifts per 13-week contract
  • Weekend shifts involve 8, 10, or 12-hour durations integrated within weekly contracted hours
  • Flexibility to accommodate varied shift patterns is necessary

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Current nursing license with OR nursing experience
  • Proven ability to work efficiently in high-capacity operating theatres
  • Competency in managing multiple surgical cases and emergencies
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Adaptability to rotating shifts including nights and weekends

Contract Details:

  • Standard 13-week duration with multiple potential start dates
