Job Description

Qualifications/Desired Experience

  • Current, valid nursing license (state or compact, as required)
  • Demonstrated experience supporting perioperative and intraoperative care as an ORT
  • Proficiency in sterile technique, instrument handling, and surgical procedures
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities within a surgical team
  • Up-to-date certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and any other facility-required credentials
  • Ability to function effectively in fast-paced and high-stress clinical settings

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist surgeons and other surgical staff throughout all phases of operative procedures
  • Maintain accurate counts of surgical instruments, sponges, and supplies
  • Ensure proper preparation and organization of the operating room before, during, and after surgeries
  • Adhere strictly to infection control and patient safety protocols
  • Provide support for patient positioning and transport as required
  • Contribute to postoperative clean-up and inventory management
