Qualifications/Desired Experience
- Current, valid nursing license (state or compact, as required)
- Demonstrated experience supporting perioperative and intraoperative care as an ORT
- Proficiency in sterile technique, instrument handling, and surgical procedures
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities within a surgical team
- Up-to-date certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and any other facility-required credentials
- Ability to function effectively in fast-paced and high-stress clinical settings
Key Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and other surgical staff throughout all phases of operative procedures
- Maintain accurate counts of surgical instruments, sponges, and supplies
- Ensure proper preparation and organization of the operating room before, during, and after surgeries
- Adhere strictly to infection control and patient safety protocols
- Provide support for patient positioning and transport as required
- Contribute to postoperative clean-up and inventory management
