Job Description

Seeking a skilled operating room technician (ORT) for a contract assignment supporting surgical teams in a dynamic healthcare environment. This position offers the opportunity to expand your expertise with a focus on both transplant and spine procedures while contributing to patient care excellence.

Schedule:

  • 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM 7:00 PM)
  • Includes night and weekend call rotation

Qualifications:

  • Active DORA (Division of Professions and Occupations) license required
  • NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) certification required
  • Previous experience in the operating room as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
  • Preferred background in transplant and/or spine procedures
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-centered environment
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Role Responsibilities:

  • Assist surgeons and nurses with preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care
  • Prepare and maintain a sterile field for surgical procedures
  • Manage surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring availability and proper functioning
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures, particularly in transplant and spine surgeries
  • Adhere to infection control and patient safety protocols
  • Participate in call duties for nights and weekends as scheduled
  • Document and communicate pertinent information related to each procedure
