Key Experience and Abilities:

  • Certified Surgical Technologist with strong OR skills (Nursing ORT)
  • Knowledgeable in anatomy, instrumentation, equipment, and procedural needs
  • Able to support moderate to high acuity surgeries and occasionally exceed this complexity
  • Skilled in efficient surgical planning and execution
  • Comfortable mentoring, precepting, or training others
  • Observant of safety and sterile field protocols
  • Collaborative with the surgical and broader healthcare team

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the operating suite and surgical field for procedural safety and efficiency
  • Gather necessary instruments, supplies, and ensure readiness for all cases
  • Proactively assist the team, anticipating and fulfilling surgical needs as they arise
  • Participate in quality and performance improvement initiatives
  • Mentor and train colleagues in surgical best practices
  • Assist with inventory, stocking, and compliance with recognized standards for perioperative care
  • Provide occasional call or after-hours coverage as required
