Job Description

A skilled and adaptable professional is needed to support surgical teams and ensure smooth operations in a dynamic operating room setting. This contract position calls for expertise as a Certified Surgical Technologist and/or Operating Room Technician, providing direct assistance to surgeons and working closely with the perioperative team.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or credentials as an Operating Room Technician (ORT)
  • Previous experience in a surgical environment preferred
  • Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical instrumentation
  • Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team and maintain focus in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • BLS certification, or willingness to obtain before starting

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare operating rooms with necessary equipment and sterile supplies
  • Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, handling sterile equipment, and maintaining a safe operative field
  • Monitor, count, and handle surgical instruments, sponges, and supplies to prevent retention after procedures
  • Ensure adherence to infection control and patient safety protocols at all times
  • Clean and restock operating rooms between procedures
  • Document relevant patient and procedural information accurately
