A healthcare facility in Atlanta, GA is seeking an experienced Operating Room nurse with specialized skills in Orthopedic Trauma (ORT) to support their surgical team. Responsibilities:
- Provide perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing orthopedic trauma surgeries
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient safety and care quality
- Manage patient positioning, surgical instrumentation, and sterile field maintenance
- Respond efficiently to call shifts, weekends, and holiday coverage to meet patient needs
- Apply trauma care knowledge in a Level 1 trauma center environment
- Utilize traveling experience to adapt quickly to the fast-paced and demanding surgical setting
- Preferred experience with burn cases, enhancing the versatility of care delivery
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Proven nursing experience within orthopedic trauma surgical settings
- Skilled in trauma patient care at a Level 1 Trauma Center with a high competency rating
- Prior travel nursing experience is required to ensure flexibility and independence in workload management
- Burn care experience is a distinct advantage
- Ability to work early morning shifts (6:45 a.m. to 7:15 p.m.), on-call responsibilities, weekends, and holidays
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills
Schedule / Hours:
- Early shift: 6:45 a.m. 7:15 p.m.
- Includes on-call, weekends, and holiday coverage
- No block scheduling
