Job Description
Deliver essential support to the surgical team by assisting with operating room procedures and ensuring optimal surgical outcomes. Utilize your expertise to maintain a sterile environment, manage equipment and supplies, and contribute critical technical skills in a collaborative clinical setting. This opportunity is offered on a contract basis, allowing you to provide exceptional care and technical assistance where its needed most.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare surgical cases by establishing and maintaining a sterile field throughout procedures.
- Assist surgeons by retracting and passing instruments, supplies, and medications during surgical cases.
- Perform technical duties in the operating room, including the setup, maintenance, and monitoring of surgical instruments and supplies.
- Support all intraoperative patient care activities, contributing to the successful execution of surgical services.
- Collaborate directly with nurses, surgeons, and other health professionals to promote safety and efficiency.
- May provide support for inpatient or outpatient surgery-related functions as required.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure all operating room supplies are adequately stocked.
- Strictly adhere to infection prevention, safety, and confidentiality protocols.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience or formal training in Operating Room Technician (ORT) duties.
- Familiarity with a wide variety of surgical procedures, instruments, and sterile techniques.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Certification or eligibility as a surgical technologist or ORT is highly desirable.
