Job Description

An excellent opportunity is available for a skilled professional to work in a specialized surgical environment focusing on the cardiovascular operating room (CVOR). This contract role requires expertise in handling both endovascular and traditional open-heart procedures, as well as support for thoracic specialties. The setting includes advanced hybrid operating rooms that demand a unique combination of surgical and interventional skills to meet evolving patient needs.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday
  • On-call coverage required

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Current certification and demonstrated experience as a CVOR Surgical Technologist (CST)
  • Strong background performing CST duties in endovascular, open heart, and thoracic procedures
  • Experience in a hybrid OR setting, supporting both surgical and interventional procedures
  • Ability to scrupulously follow protocols and effectively manage instrumentation and sterile fields
  • Team player with clear, professional communication and the ability to adapt in a dynamic, high-acuity environment
  • Proven reliability in on-call situations and flexibility to meet urgent patient care requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain a sterile surgical environment within the CVOR and hybrid OR
  • Assist surgical teams with instrumentation, case preparation, and procedural support for cardiovascular and thoracic interventions
  • Ensure the availability and proper functioning of specialized endovascular and surgical equipment
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to deliver optimal patient outcomes
  • Respond promptly to on-call requests to support emergency and scheduled cases as needed
