Job Description

A specialized opportunity is available for a Certified Surgical Technologist with expertise in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) setting. This role is designed for professionals who excel in perioperative patient care, assisting surgeons during operative and invasive procedures while working collaboratively under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

  • Provide proficient perioperative care using specialized equipment and instrumentation in the CVOR arena
  • Serve as a scrub assistant to physicians during cardiovascular and related invasive procedures
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to maintain high standards of patient safety and care quality
  • Act as a role model and resource, drawing on expertise to support and guide other staff members
  • Work under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, adhering to established protocols and surgical technologist competencies

Qualifications & Desired Experience

  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in CVOR perioperative procedures and instrumentation
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Schedule

  • Typical hours: 2:30 p.m. 11:00 p.m.
  • On-call rotation responsibilities
