Job Description

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year prior experience in a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) setting
  • Strong understanding of surgical instruments, sterile technique, and cardiovascular procedures
  • Ability to anticipate surgeons needs and adapt quickly in fast-paced situations
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Current BLS certification required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the CVOR by ensuring all needed equipment and supplies are available and sterile
  • Support the surgical team by passing instruments, sponges, and other items throughout procedures
  • Monitor and maintain a sterile environment during operations
  • Assist with preoperative and postoperative room turnover and equipment sterilization
  • Accurately document procedure-related information as required
  • Serve as a resource for best practices regarding CVOR setup and safety protocols
