Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist or CVOR Tech
- Demonstrated experience in a cardiovascular operating room
- Comprehensive knowledge of cardiovascular surgical instruments and techniques
- Proven ability to maintain a sterile field and follow proper aseptic procedures
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary surgical teams
- CPR/BLS certification (current)
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare cardiovascular operating room and ensure all necessary equipment is available and functioning
- Assist surgeons and nurses during cardiovascular and thoracic procedures
- Handle and pass instruments and supplies while maintaining strict sterile techniques
- Monitor patient status and respond promptly to the needs of the surgical team
- Properly clean and sterilize all surgical instruments and equipment after use
- Adhere to all hospital policies and safety regulations
- Maintain accurate documentation throughout procedures
