Key Qualifications:
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent, with specialized experience in cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) procedures
- Minimum of one year of recent CVOR Tech experience in a hospital or surgical center
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Strong knowledge of sterile techniques, surgical instrumentation, and cardiovascular procedures
- Ability to anticipate the needs of surgeons during cases and effectively assist throughout the operative process
- Solid communication skills with a commitment to patient care and team collaboration
Core Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operating room by assembling and verifying the availability of required instruments, equipment, and supplies for cardiovascular surgeries
- Maintain a sterile field and assist the surgical team before, during, and after procedures
- Hand instruments and supplies to surgeons and surgical assistants as directed, ensuring seamless workflow
- Monitor and account for surgical instruments, counts, and supplies throughout procedures
- Ensure patient safety by adhering to established protocols and infection control standards
- Support room turnover and instrument sterilization processes as needed
