Job Description

Providing skilled perioperative patient care in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR), this role supports the surgical team by assisting physicians during operative and invasive procedures. The position operates under the direction of a Registered Nurse and follows established protocols outlined in the Surgical Technologist Skills Inventory. Experience and knowledge in the CVOR setting will allow you to serve as a resource and role model to your peers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist surgeons by preparing and managing necessary equipment and instrumentation during CVOR procedures
  • Maintain sterile field and ensure all surgical tools are accounted for and functioning properly
  • Collaborate closely with Registered Nurses and other surgical team members to deliver exceptional patient care
  • Provide support during perioperative phases, including setup, intraoperative assistance, and post-operative responsibilities

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Certified Surgical Technologist through NBSTSA or NCCT
  • Experience working in a CVOR or similar perioperative environment preferred
  • Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment handling, and sterile techniques
  • Ability to follow directions and work well under pressure within a dynamic surgical team

Schedule and Location:

  • Shift: 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with on-call rotation
  • Location: Katy, TX
  • Contract role offering valuable experience in a leading childrens hospital setting
