Job Description

Join a dynamic surgical team providing specialized perioperative care in a cutting-edge cardiovascular operating room. This contract position offers the opportunity to work as a scrub assistant alongside physicians during complex invasive procedures, contributing to exceptional patient outcomes in a childrens hospital environment.

Key Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist through NBSTSA or NCCT
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Demonstrated experience working in a CVOR setting, supporting cardiovascular surgeries
  • Ability to function effectively under the direction of a Registered Nurse
  • Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterile techniques

Schedule:

  • Work hours from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM
  • Participation in on-call rotations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist surgeons during cardiovascular and other invasive procedures by providing and managing surgical instrumentation and equipment
  • Maintain sterile field in accordance with hospital protocols and surgical technologist standards
  • Serve as a resource and role model by applying expert surgical technology skills and knowledge
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care
