Job Description

This opportunity focuses on delivering expert perioperative patient care within a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) environment. The role involves assisting physicians as a scrub assistant during operative and invasive procedures, ensuring the seamless use of specialized equipment and instrumentation. Operating under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, the position also serves as a resource and role model to colleagues, exemplifying high standards in surgical technology practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide proficient perioperative patient care in the CVOR setting
  • Assist surgeons by managing instruments and equipment during procedures
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to promote patient safety and efficiency
  • Act as a role model and resource for other staff members
  • Follow all protocol and guidance as per Surgical Technologist Skills Inventory

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current certification as a Surgical Technologist through NBSTSA or NCCT
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Experience functioning as a scrub assistant in a perioperative environment, preferably CVOR
  • Ability to work effectively under the direction of a Registered Nurse
  • Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and equipment handling

Schedule:

  • 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM shift
  • On-call rotation
