Seeking an experienced CVOR Tech to deliver high-quality patient care in a dynamic surgical environment. This contract role is ideal for professionals committed to supporting cardiovascular surgical teams, ensuring optimal outcomes for patients undergoing complex heart procedures.
Key Qualifications:
- Current certification as a CVOR Tech or Surgical Technologist with CVOR experience
- Minimum of 1 year recent experience in Cardiovascular Operating Room settings
- Strong understanding of sterile technique and infection control protocols
- Proficient in handling specialized CVOR instruments and equipment
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, RNs, and anesthesia teams
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Adaptable, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure situations
Role Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain all instruments, supplies, and equipment required for cardiovascular surgeries
- Assist the surgical team before, during, and after cardiac procedures, anticipating the needs of surgeons
- Ensure accurate labelling and handling of all specimens
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques and all hospital safety procedures
- Monitor and maintain the integrity of the sterile field throughout every operation
- Support the surgical staff in responding to intraoperative emergencies or changes in patient status
- Contribute to a positive, patient-focused atmosphere at all times
