Key Qualifications:
- Certification and experience as a CVOR Tech or Operating Room Technician
- Proficient in cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Ability to anticipate the needs of surgeons and adapt to evolving situations in the OR
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Familiarity with sterile techniques and infection control standards
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operating room with necessary equipment, instruments, and sterile supplies
- Assist during surgeries by passing instruments and supplies, maintaining the sterile field, and anticipating surgical team needs
- Ensure meticulous adherence to patient safety and infection prevention protocols at all times
- Participate in surgical counts, specimen handling, and accurate documentation
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, anesthesiologists, and surgeons for optimal patient care
- Assist with cleaning and restocking the OR after procedures
- Remain current on best practices and updates in CVOR technology and techniques
