Job Description
Advance your career as a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Technician and make a positive impact in a fast-paced perioperative environment. You will collaborate alongside an expert surgical team, assisting with complex cardiovascular cases and providing critical support to surgeons and nurses throughout every stage of the operative process.
Key Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent cardiovascular-focused education required
- Previous experience in a high-volume operating room, specifically as a CVOR Tech, preferred
- Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) strongly desired
- Demonstrated knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and equipment maintenance
- Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team during cardiovascular procedures
- Strong organizational skills coupled with attention to detail and a commitment to safety
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications encouraged
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare the CVOR suite and ensure all necessary instruments and supplies are present and sterile
- Assist the surgical team during cardiac and vascular procedures, ensuring proper handling of specialized equipment
- Accurately count instruments, sponges, and other materials pre- and post-operation to maintain patient safety
- Respond quickly to changing needs during procedures and adapt to challenging situations
- Work collaboratively with circulating nurses, perfusionists, and surgeons to deliver superior patient care
- Maintain documentation of surgical procedures as required
