Job Description

Advance your career as a part-time Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber in an outpatient behavioral health setting. This contract role offers an engaging opportunity to provide comprehensive psychiatric care for individuals utilizing community-based mental health services. As an integral member of a collaborative treatment team, youll work closely with a supervising Psychiatrist as well as nursing and case management colleagues, supporting patient outcomes with expert clinical care.

Schedule & Hours

  • Part-time: 16 hours per week
  • Required shift: Thursdays, 8:00 AM 4:00 PM (paid lunch)
  • Additional day is flexible
  • 13-week contract duration

Qualifications

  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner and eligible to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber
  • Active DEA license
  • Ability to pass a caregiver background check
  • Psychiatric experience preferred (at least 1 year ideal, but not mandatory)

Core Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and coordinate ongoing patient assessments
  • Complete intake assessments and manage psychiatric follow-up care
  • Prescribe psychotropic medications and oversee treatment plans
  • Participate in patient treatment planning and multidisciplinary team meetings
  • Order labs, diagnostic testing, and additional procedures as indicated
  • Provide timely and thorough documentation of patient encounters
  • Offer clinical consultation and support during planned interventions
  • Employ evidence-based approaches, including motivational interviewing and trauma-informed care
