Advance your career as a part-time Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber in an outpatient behavioral health setting. This contract role offers an engaging opportunity to provide comprehensive psychiatric care for individuals utilizing community-based mental health services. As an integral member of a collaborative treatment team, youll work closely with a supervising Psychiatrist as well as nursing and case management colleagues, supporting patient outcomes with expert clinical care.
Schedule & Hours
- Part-time: 16 hours per week
- Required shift: Thursdays, 8:00 AM 4:00 PM (paid lunch)
- Additional day is flexible
- 13-week contract duration
Qualifications
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner and eligible to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber
- Active DEA license
- Ability to pass a caregiver background check
- Psychiatric experience preferred (at least 1 year ideal, but not mandatory)
Core Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and coordinate ongoing patient assessments
- Complete intake assessments and manage psychiatric follow-up care
- Prescribe psychotropic medications and oversee treatment plans
- Participate in patient treatment planning and multidisciplinary team meetings
- Order labs, diagnostic testing, and additional procedures as indicated
- Provide timely and thorough documentation of patient encounters
- Offer clinical consultation and support during planned interventions
- Employ evidence-based approaches, including motivational interviewing and trauma-informed care
