Contracted Special Education Teacher Job - Park Ride, Illinois

Town: Park Ridge, IL

Provider: Sunbelt Staffing

Type: Contract

Hrs/week: 35 hours per week

Term: Looking to hire for the upcoming school year

Assignment Focus: Middle School Caseload in a Self-Contained Setting

Student Dynamics: Approximately 8 students presenting moderate to severe mental and emotional challenges such as anxiety, depression, and school-avoidant behaviors.

Special Education Teacher Credentials Required:

Possession of a valid Professional Educator License (PEL)
Previous experience supporting students with mental/emotional disabilities is advantageous
Demonstrated proficiency in special education methodologies
Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders

Primary Responsibilities of Special Education Teacher:

Conduct comprehensive assessments to inform individualized learning plans
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Deliver both direct and indirect instructional support tailored to student needs
Participate actively in meetings with parents, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams
Foster a cooperative learning environment through collaboration with fellow educators
Provide guidance and support to colleagues as needed

Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday
Commence at 8:00 AM
Conclude at 3:30 PM
Includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
