A certified Surgical Technologist opportunity is available in the Pittsford, NY area on a 13-week contract basis. This position offers a chance to support a broad range of adult and pediatric cases in a busy operating room setting that includes 23 ORs and one procedure room. The role involves working a weekend schedule with 12-hour shifts, providing vital assistance during elective and emergency surgeries across various specialties.

Location Overview: Pittsford is conveniently situated near Rochester, NY, a city known for its rich arts scene, beautiful Finger Lakes wineries, and lively year-round festivals. The area provides excellent opportunities for outdoor recreation, dining, and cultural activities, making it an appealing place to spend your time off.

Schedule:

  • 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (SaturdayMonday, 7:00 AM 7:00 PM)
  • On-call: one call per week plus one weekend per month

Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA required unless worked in NY before 2015)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Minimum of two years recent experience as a certified Surgical Technologist preferred
  • Must live more than 75 miles from the facility (local candidates are not eligible)
  • First-time travelers are welcome

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare operating rooms for surgery by assembling instruments and supplies
  • Assist surgical teams during procedures to ensure a smooth and safe environment
  • Handle specimens and maintain surgical equipment sterility
  • Work with a variety of adult and pediatric patients under elective and emergency conditions
