An opportunity is available for a skilled Medical Physicist eager to contribute their expertise in a dynamic healthcare setting on a contract basis. This position requires a detail-oriented professional dedicated to ensuring the safe and effective delivery of radiation therapy and diagnostic imaging services.
Key Qualifications:
- Masters or Doctorate degree in Medical Physics, Physics, or a related field
- Certification by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or the American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP), or eligibility to obtain certification
- Experience working as a Medical Physicist in a clinical environment
- Strong knowledge of radiation safety regulations and quality assurance procedures
- Proficiency in the calibration and maintenance of radiation therapy equipment
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Schedule/Hours:
- Full-time hours
- Typical schedule aligns with standard business hours; flexibility required to meet clinical needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee and ensure compliance with quality control and safety standards for all diagnostic and therapy equipment
- Calibrate, test, and maintain radiation therapy devices and imaging systems
- Collaborate with oncology, radiology, and technical teams to support safe and effective patient care
- Conduct routine audits and documentation related to radiation safety protocols
- Provide consultation and education on radiation safety and equipment usage to clinical staff
- Support regulatory compliance and participate in accreditation processes as required
