Job Description
Help support individuals on their path to wellness in a respected psychiatric setting, utilizing your skills as a Medical Assistant or Mental Health Assistant. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a dedicated care team for a 13-week contract, with possible extension based on performance.
Available shifts:
- Evenings: 3:00 pm 11:00 pm (2 positions available)
- Nights: 11:00 pm 7:00 am (4 positions available)
- 40 hours per week, 3 out of 4 weekends per month
- Rotating schedules by unit; flexibility to float as needed
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of experience, ideally within inpatient nursing or psychiatric/mental health settings
- Backgrounds in group home care, customer service, or current studies in psychology will be highly considered
- No LNA or CNA certification required
- Demonstrated reliability and strong attendance record, as punctuality is essential
- Ability to adhere to fit-testing requirements and maintain a clean shave as per CDC standards when N95 masks are mandated
- Commitment to completing and passing in-class Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training
- Desire to work collaboratively with mental health populations and multidisciplinary teams
Key responsibilities:
- Support licensed clinical staff with patient care and daily unit operations
- Assist in implementing care plans for patients with acute mental health needs
- Observe, report, and document patient behavior accurately
- Participate in therapeutic interventions and crisis management as trained
- Ensure compliance with all hospital policies and safety regulations
