Sunbelt is currently scheduling interviews for a full-time Special Education teacher in the Canton, NY area. We are looking for applicants with previous experience working with disabled students in a school environment.

SPED Qualifications:

New York SPED license and teaching certification
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education
Passion for working with children

Job Details:

K - 12th caseloads
Various classroom settings
Additional details will be discussed during the interview

Job Responsibilities:

Assist and work with students who have a wide range of learning, mental, emotional, and physical disabilities
Participate in IEP conferences
Monitor children’s behavioral patterns and arrange appropriate interventions if needed
Conduct special education evaluations as needed
Assess student progress and determines the need for additional reinforcement or adjustments to instructional techniques
