This opportunity seeks a skilled X-ray Technologist to perform diagnostic radiographic procedures in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The role requires verifying patient identity and physician orders before imaging, positioning patients safelyincluding those with limited mobilityand producing high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation. Attention to maintaining safety protocols, proper handling of radiologic equipment, and accurate record keeping using electronic systems are essential elements of this position.
Responsibilities:
- Confirm patient identity and review physician orders prior to imaging procedures
- Operate x-ray equipment to capture images of bones, tissues, and organs
- Explain procedures clearly and compassionately to patients
- Position patients safely, assisting with lifting or mobility as needed
- Maintain radiation safety to keep doses as low as possible
- Produce diagnostic-quality images for radiologist interpretation
- Report any equipment issues promptly
- Utilize electronic patient systems to ensure proper labeling and record accuracy
- Collaborate effectively with team members and support a cohesive work environment
Qualifications:
- Completion of formal training through an approved School of Radiologic Technology
- Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
- New York State licensure, or eligibility to obtain before start date
- Minimum 2 years experience as an X-ray Technologist, including Level 1 trauma center exposure
- Recent operating room experience using C-arm/O-arm equipment within the past 8 months
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift or move patients as necessary
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach
- Ability to respond within 30 minutes to on-call shifts
