A specialized opportunity is available for an experienced X-Ray Technologist to perform high-quality radiographic imaging within a Level 1 trauma center setting. This role demands precision, technical proficiency, and compassionate patient care, ensuring every imaging procedure meets the highest diagnostic standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify patient identity and review physicians' orders to confirm imaging requirements.
- Operate x-ray equipment to capture detailed radiographic images of bones, tissues, and organs.
- Explain procedures clearly to patients and respond to their questions to alleviate concerns.
- Position patients accurately, including assisting those with limited mobility.
- Maintain patient safety by managing radiation exposure to the lowest possible dose.
- Observe and adapt techniques to meet age-specific patient needs.
- Produce diagnostic-quality images for Radiologist interpretation.
- Report any malfunctioning or damaged equipment promptly to management.
- Utilize electronic patient information systems to confirm exam details and adhere to dual patient identifier protocols.
- Ensure accurate labeling and proper transmission of images within PACS systems.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Completion of formal training from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
- Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Active New York State licensure or eligibility to obtain prior to employment.
- Minimum of 2 years experience as an X-Ray Technologist.
- Previous exposure to Level 1 trauma center environments.
- Recent operating room experience, including proficiency with c-arm or o-arm devices within the last 8 months.
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to lift or move patients and remain standing for extended durations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- A compassionate approach to patient care and effective teamwork.
- Availability to report within 30 minutes for on-call shifts.
