Job Description
A skilled imaging technologist is needed to coordinate and perform radiographic procedures with precision and professionalism in a dynamic clinical environment. This contract role is based in Rochester, NY, offering an opportunity to work in a fast-paced setting alongside nurses and providers in a setting similar to an operating room.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare radiographic rooms, equipment, contrast agents, and materials needed for patient procedures.
- Clean and disinfect radiographic rooms and equipment following safety protocols.
- Prepare and assist patients during radiographic exams, clearly explaining procedures and providing support throughout.
- Administer specific X-rays using prescribed techniques to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Utilize HIS, PACS, and RIS software efficiently for recording and managing imaging studies.
- Monitor patient condition during procedures, report any unusual occurrences, and maintain detailed records.
- Participate in departmental quality assurance programs and print exams on film as needed.
- Maintain stock supplies and perform general office duties.
- Engage in active movement throughout the workday including standing, walking, and pivoting.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited radiology technology program.
- Licensed by the New York State Department of Health.
- Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Skilled knowledge of radiographic examinations, positioning techniques, and radiation safety.
- Familiarity with anatomy, medical terminology, and the operation of radiographic equipment.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills; experience with Windows and Outlook is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact empathetically with patients, visitors, and team members.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and adhere to schedules.
- Flexible to work overtime, including evenings and weekends.
- Experience with C-Arm procedures and spine injections/ablations preferred.
