A healthcare role is open for an experienced X-Ray Technologist in Pittsford, NY on a contract basis. This position requires solid skills in imaging and X-ray procedures, delivering critical diagnostic images to support patient care in a level 1 trauma center setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify patient identity and review physician orders before imaging.
• Operate x-ray equipment to capture high-quality radiographic images of bones, tissues, and organs.
• Explain procedures to patients, addressing any questions to ensure comfort and cooperation.
• Position and assist patients, including those with mobility challenges.
• Safely handle radiologic equipment, maintaining low radiation dose exposure.
• Monitor patient status with age-specific considerations.
• Identify and report damaged or malfunctioning equipment promptly.
• Utilize electronic patient information systems for accurate data verification and image management.
• Keep precise patient records and ensure images are correctly sent to PACS.
• Respond to on-call shifts within 30 minutes as required.

Desired Qualifications:

• Completion of formal training from an approved Radiologic Technology school.
• Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Current New York State license or ability to obtain prior to start.
• Minimum 2 years of X-Ray Technologist experience, including in a level 1 trauma center.
• Recent operating room experience within the past 8 months, including use of c-arm or o-arm.
• BLS certification.
• Ability to lift or move patients and stand for extended periods.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Compassionate, patient-focused demeanor and team-oriented attitude.
