A healthcare opportunity is available for an experienced X-Ray Technologist specializing in imaging procedures. This contract position is based in Penfield, NY, and requires a professional skilled in using X-ray equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images to aid in patient care.
Responsibilities include verifying patient identities, reviewing physicians' orders before performing imaging, and explaining procedures to patients clearly and compassionately. The role demands proper positioning of patients, including those with limited mobility, while safely operating all radiologic equipment to minimize radiation exposure. You will also maintain accurate patient records, ensure images are correctly transmitted to the PACS system, and promptly report any equipment malfunctions. Familiarity with electronic patient information systems and dual patient identifier procedures is essential.
Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Completion of an approved School of Radiologic Technology and active certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Possess or be able to obtain a New York State license before starting.
- Minimum of 2 years experience as an X-ray Technologist.
- Experience in a Level 1 trauma center.
- Recent operating room experience using c-arm/o-arm equipment within the past 8 months.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift or move patients when necessary.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Patient, compassionate, and capable of fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Must be able to report within 30 minutes for on-call shifts.
