Responsibilities include:
- Verifying patient identity and physician orders before imaging
- Operating X-ray equipment to obtain clear images of bones, tissues, and organs
- Explaining procedures to patients and addressing their concerns
- Positioning and assisting patients, including those with limited mobility
- Ensuring radiation doses are kept to a minimum for patient safety
- Observing and responding to patient needs across varying age groups
- Managing electronic patient records accurately and ensuring images are properly labeled and sent to PACS systems
- Reporting any equipment malfunctions promptly
- Collaborating effectively with the healthcare team to maintain a cohesive work environment
- Responding within 30 minutes for on-call shifts
Qualifications:
- Completion of formal training in Radiologic Technology with current ARRT certification
- Valid or obtainable New York State Radiologic Technologist license
- Minimum of 2 years experience as an X-ray Technologist, including Level 1 trauma center experience
- Recent experience (within 8 months) using C-arm/O-arm, with recent OR experience mandatory
- BLS certification
- Ability to lift and move patients and stand for extended periods
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach
