Job Description

Provide expert ultrasound imaging services in a fast-paced free-standing emergency department located in Waxhaw, NC. This contract position offers the opportunity to utilize advanced ultrasound technology and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team supporting emergency care services. The department handles an average of 15 emergency visits daily with approximately five ultrasound studies performed each day.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general ultrasound imaging for emergency department patients.
  • Assist in obtaining vital signs, rooming patients, and supporting patient care activities such as ECGs and sitter duties during downtime.
  • Collaborate with diagnostic and CT teams to transport and move patients as needed.
  • Support night shift ultrasound needs across multiple emergency sites within the region.
  • Utilize EPIC EMR and Philips PACS systems efficiently.
  • Uphold departmental protocols, policies, and patient safety standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of ultrasound imaging experience in an emergency or acute care setting.
  • Certification as a Sonographer by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Sonography.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Willingness to perform additional patient care tasks beyond ultrasound imaging.
  • Ability to support multi-site facilities within the designated radius, requiring travel for some shifts.
  • Strong teamwork skills and flexibility in a dynamic department.
