Step into a dynamic healthcare environment providing vital diagnostic imaging services as an Ultrasound Technologist. This contract position offers the opportunity to utilize advanced ultrasound equipment and collaborate closely with physicians and clinical staff to support patient care.
Key Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field
- Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or eligibility to obtain upon hire
- Demonstrated experience performing general imaging ultrasound procedures
- Thorough understanding of sonographic anatomy, physiology, and pathology
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and team members
- Ability to accurately document findings and maintain patient records in compliance with regulations
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform a wide range of general ultrasound imaging procedures, ensuring accurate image acquisition for physician interpretation
- Prepare patients for exams, explaining each step, and addressing questions to promote comfort and cooperation
- Operate and calibrate ultrasound equipment according to facility protocols and safety standards
- Maintain organized records and enter findings into hospital information systems
- Recognize emergency situations and respond appropriately within scope of practice
- Collaborate with radiologists and referring providers for optimal patient outcomes
- Monitor and maintain exam rooms, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for use
