Key Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field
• Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or eligibility to obtain upon hire
• Demonstrated experience performing general imaging ultrasound procedures
• Thorough understanding of sonographic anatomy, physiology, and pathology
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and team members
• Ability to accurately document findings and maintain patient records in compliance with regulations

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform a wide range of general ultrasound imaging procedures, ensuring accurate image acquisition for physician interpretation
• Prepare patients for exams, explaining each step, and addressing questions to promote comfort and cooperation
• Operate and calibrate ultrasound equipment according to facility protocols and safety standards
• Maintain organized records and enter findings into hospital information systems
• Recognize emergency situations and respond appropriately within scope of practice
• Collaborate with radiologists and referring providers for optimal patient outcomes
• Monitor and maintain exam rooms, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for use
