Job Description

Perform diagnostic ultrasound imaging in a dynamic emergency department setting at a newly opened, state-of-the-art facility in Indian Trail, NC. This contract opportunity is ideal for skilled ultrasound technologists with at least two years of experience who are comfortable working in a fast-paced general ED environment.

Responsibilities include conducting general ultrasound imaging for emergency department patients, assisting with vital sign collection, and supporting patient transport and care as needed. You will collaborate closely with staff across specialties and modalities to ensure smooth department operations. Familiarity with emergency department workflows and the ability to assist in various ancillary tasks such as patient rooming, EKGs, and psych patient sitting are essential components of the role.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (S) certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of general ultrasound experience; first-time travelers considered
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) a plus
  • Competency or willingness to learn general ED tasks outside of imaging (vitals, sitter duties, EKGs)
  • Ability to support patient transport and assist diagnostic departments as needed
  • Proficiency with EMR systems, preferably EPIC
