A healthcare opportunity is available for an experienced Ultrasound Technologist specializing in general ultrasound imaging. This contract position is based in Des Plaines, IL, offering the chance to work in a dynamic environment where both outpatient and inpatient care are provided.

The role requires a confident professional comfortable handling a diverse patient population, from newborns to geriatric individuals, across a variety of ultrasound examinations including OB, GYN, abdominal, and vascular studies. The technologist will have access to advanced imaging equipment such as LOGIC E9 and Toshiba ultrasound machines, supported by an EPIC EMR system. Supportive management, including a manager, supervisor, and team lead, ensures a collaborative and well-organized department.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years ultrasound technologist experience
• Certifications: BLS, ARDMS or ARRT-US in OB, GYN, AB, and RVT
• Comfortable with diverse patient age groups and conditions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities:

• Perform ultrasound examinations across OB, GYN, abdominal, and vascular specialties for both outpatients and inpatients
• Manage patient care with a 1:1 patient ratio
• Participate in a weekend rotation every 4th week and one night of on-call duty per week (11 pm 7 am)
• Float occasionally to off-site locations to understand workflows (Lake Zurich and Crystal Lake)
• Complete a one-week, half-day precepted orientation for workflow familiarization

Schedule:

• Shifts vary between 7 am 4 pm and 11 am 7 pm
• Weekend rotation every 4th week
• On-call one night per week
