Job Description
A healthcare role in ultrasound imaging offers the opportunity to assist radiologists in performing a range of invasive diagnostic procedures including needle biopsies, aspirations, and guided needle-wire placement exams used in surgical settings. This contract position is located in Cary, NC, within a leading healthcare system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support radiologists in invasive diagnostic ultrasound procedures.
- Train and standardize techniques for residents conducting exams.
- Evaluate patient readiness and identify contraindications such as medication conflicts or patient intolerance.
- Perform ultrasound procedures under appropriate supervision.
- Identify sonographic features of normal and abnormal tissues, structures, and blood flow.
- Analyze sonography findings during exams to ensure comprehensive data collection.
- Recognize when radiologist observation of real-time scans is necessary.
- Capture diagnostic images and Doppler recordings for radiologist interpretation.
- Communicate preliminary results and diagnostic evaluations to radiologists and referring physicians.

- Proven skills in general ultrasound imaging.
- Ability to identify sonographic characteristics and abnormalities.
- Knowledge of invasive ultrasound-assisted diagnostic techniques.
- Effective communication abilities for collaborating with medical teams.
